A Burlesque comedian, Red broke into Hollywood and has appeared in nearly 100 silver screen films. Jim Davidson
Born Blackheath, South London our Jim shot to fame in 1976 by winning ITV’s 'New Faces'. His chirpy non-PC comedic style has made him a firm favourite with a certain type of comedy fan.
Away from the stage Jim has led what we call a colourful private life, experiencing divorces weddings some more divorces and another wedding or two. Currently on our screens with BBC TVs 'Big Break' and 'The Generation Game'. |

Simon Donald
Creator and all round Top Man at Newcastle’s VIZ magazine, the home of Johnny Fartpants, the Fat Slags and Sid the Sexist to name just a few. Simon just qualifies for Red and Proud by means of his Red Beard. Simon and his beard can be heard on BBC Radio 5’s Nicky Campbell Show where he sometimes throws his oar into debates about the World we live in. |

Arthur Godfrey
31st Aug 1903- 16th Mar 1983. They said "He can't sing, dance or act" but he went on to become one of the biggest US TV and Radio stars of the late 1940s and early 50s. Known as Old Redhead, The Arthur Godfrey Talent Scout Shows were the springboard for stars such as Tony Bennett, Pat Boone and Connie Francis. Although Arthur did make the occasional slip, turning down the young Elvis Presley, oh well, you can't win them all.

Doreen Keough
Born in Dublin, Doreen has a place in Weatherfield’s Hall of Fame for playing Concepta Riley, the first barmaid in The Rover’s Return (1960-75).
She has gone on to appear in Z-Cars, Selwyn Froggatt and Ballykissangel .
These days our Do is back on top is back on top in her role as Mary Carroll, neighbour of The Royle Family.

Stan Laurel
16th June 1890 - 23rd February 1965, born in Ulverston, Yorkshire, England. The Red half of the much-loved, incomparable kings of slapstick, Laurel and Hardy. Stan was awarded an Oscar for his 'creative pioneering in the field of comedy'. Nicknaming the beauty 'Mr. Clean', Stan allegedly polished the trophy daily. Fair play. |
