Redhead of the Year 2003!

Red and Proud – The Home of The Redhead - are delighted to announce that the leader of the Liberal Democrats, Charles Kennedy is Redhead Of The Year.

Charles follows in the footsteps of Charlie Dimmock and Anne Robinson, winning this highly prestigious award by a landslide.

Red and Proud founder Simon Cheetham said that “We here at Red and Proud have long admired Charles and we were pleased to present him the award for 2003 for his thoughtful, intelligent contributions to The Gulf War debate as well as his witty, well-informed appearances both in The House of Commons and in the national media”.

Red and Proud were ushered into the inner sanctum of The House of Commons to present Charles with his award.

Charles was delighted and honoured to receive the famous cup, and admitted that as a boy at school he did have to put up with some anti-Redhead abuse from his peers.

One rhyme "Red hair, Carrot Nose, Pull the Plug and Away He Goes" was particularly memorable.
